The Safe Harbor decision and BOS

Posted: 14th October 2015

The US-EU Safe Harbor scheme – a framework of data protection standards that allows the transfer of personal data from the EU to certified US organisations – was ruled invalid by the European Court of Justice on October 6, 2015.

Some online survey tools have relied on the Safe Harbor agreement to store customer or survey data on servers in the US.

The good news for BOS users is that all data is stored in the United Kingdom, so BOS remains unaffected by this ruling and continues to be compliant with UK and EU data protection regulations.
